If the device title and old battery disagree, stop and obtain the manufacturer's current instruction. Never bend a contact, add foil, stack coin cells or force a shorter cylindrical battery to make a different code fit.
Alkaline Power: LR03, LR14, LR20 and 6LR61
The AAA pack corresponds to LR03, the C pack to LR14, the D pack to LR20 and the rectangular 9 V battery to 6LR61. AAA, C and D are nominal 1.5 V individual cells, while 6LR61 provides nominal 9 V through a snap terminal. The larger shape does not simply mean a safe high-power substitute; the device controls permitted size and load.
Install with the device off, observing every polarity symbol. Do not mix a partly used cell with a new one or combine alkaline with zinc-carbon, lithium or rechargeable chemistry. The adjacent 9 V terminals are particularly easy to bridge with metal, so keep the protective packaging until installation and isolate terminals for collection as the recycling scheme directs.
CR123A and CR2 cylindrical lithium
Panasonic's current CR123A data identifies a 3 V cylindrical primary lithium cell about 17.0 mm diameter and 34.5 mm high. CR2 is also 3 V but official data gives 15.6 mm diameter and 27 mm height. Their codes, dimensions and capacity differ, so neither should be padded, stacked or forced into a compartment intended for the other.
Boxes of ten increase the need for divided storage. Panasonic warns that jumbling lithium cells so their terminals contact one another or metal can cause external short circuits, heat, fire or explosion. Keep them in original trays, away from tools, keys and loose hardware. Do not recharge, disassemble, deform, solder directly, incinerate or expose them to water or excessive heat.
CR2354 coin-cell identity and fit
CR2354 means a specific coin-cell geometry, not any 3 V coin battery. Panasonic publishes 23.0 mm diameter, 5.4 mm height, nominal 3 V and 560 mAh for its current standard cell. CR2032, CR2330 and other codes differ in diameter, height or capacity and are not interchangeable simply because they can touch the contacts.
The live listing associates CR2354 with Tesla Model X, but key designs and years can change. Open only the exact fob procedure, note polarity and avoid damaging clips or seals. Use one cell, never stacked cells, unless the device explicitly specifies otherwise. After fitting, close the compartment fully and account for the removed cell immediately.
Coin-cell ingestion is an emergency
Panasonic's CR2354 page warns that serious harm can occur in as little as two hours after swallowing. UK product-safety guidance explains that coin batteries can react with saliva when lodged in the throat and cause severe internal burns. Flat cells remain dangerous. Store every spare and removed cell securely out of sight and reach, not loose in drawers, bags or on worktops.
If a child or adult may have swallowed a coin or button battery, do not wait for symptoms. UK guidance says to go straight to the nearest A&E department or call 999 for an ambulance, taking the battery packaging or device if available. Do not make the person vomit and do not give food or drink. A battery inserted into an ear or nose also requires urgent medical assessment.
Leakage, storage, transport and recycling
Inspect every cell for swelling, corrosion, denting, damaged wrap or leakage before use. Do not touch leaked material with bare skin. Isolate the device and use gloves/eye protection and cleanup instructions from the Panasonic safety document; seek medical attention for exposure as directed. Never reuse a cell from a contaminated compartment until the device has been assessed.
Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight, condensation, fire and children, with terminals separated. Do not carry loose batteries in pockets or mixed toolboxes.
