Champion: understand the range before choosing

Champion has a broad automotive-components identity, but every product on this page is a wiper blade. The current selection covers Aerovantage, Easyvision, Rainy Day, Vantage and a FLEX multi-fit beam reference. Flat, conventional, plastic rear and paired blades appear in lengths from 30 cm to 80 cm, with left-hand, right-hand, rear and standard descriptions that must be read as part of the fitment.

What the Champion page actually covers

The current selection contains twenty-four blades. Twelve titles use Aerovantage, six use Rainy Day, three use abbreviated Vantage wording, two use Easyvision and one identifies a FLEX multi-fit beam blade. Fourteen are described as flat blades, with conventional, standard framed, plastic rear and beam styles making up the balance. Lengths and product family are visible clues, but connector and position decide the fit.

Build a reliable shortlist

Treat each screen as a two- or three-position system. Front arms may use unequal lengths, different spoilers or side-specific curvature, while the rear arm often uses a dedicated compact connector. Photograph the old installation before removal and compare the complete Champion pair, not just one worn rubber strip.

If the supplied adaptor requires force, extra packing or alteration, stop. A connector should lock through its designed features. Do not move an adaptor from the old blade unless Champion's instructions specifically require reuse, and never cable-tie or bend the arm to secure an approximate fit.

Flat, conventional and beam blade behaviour

A conventional blade uses a jointed frame to distribute arm pressure, while a flat or beam design uses an internal spring structure and aerodynamic profile. Champion lists both under the ranges represented here. The designs are not interchangeable by length alone because connector height, spoiler direction, curvature and arm geometry affect screen contact and clearance.

Inspect wiping in motion with washer fluid. A narrow unwiped band at one end can indicate contamination, cold rubber, poor arm pressure, incorrect curvature or wrong installation. Chatter can come from glass treatment, worn rubber, a twisted arm or dry operation. Diagnose the complete interface before replacing a new blade with another length.

Aerovantage positions and paired kits

Aerovantage references in this selection include explicit LH and RH flat blades, standard blades and rear products. Champion publishes separate application resources for right- and left-hand-drive vehicles, showing that handed wording should not be guessed. Use the exact part number, vehicle and steering configuration to assign each blade.

The 55/55 cm and 65/55 cm paired flat kits provide two blades, but equal length in one kit does not prove identical fittings or spoiler orientation. Lay the components out by marked position before removing both old blades. Complete one arm at a time where practical so a correct installation remains available for comparison.

Easyvision, Rainy Day and multi-fit references

Easyvision and Rainy Day compact ranges use application and adaptor coverage to serve multiple vehicles. ‘Multi-fit’ or ‘universal’ does not mean every arm. Select the adaptor named in the pack instructions, orient its locking features correctly and retain unused pieces separately so they cannot fall into the scuttle or be mistaken for required spacers.

Rainy Day conventional sizes from 330 to 480 mm and flat blades at 430 and 530 mm demonstrate why the family name cannot choose the length. The Champion CX430 FLEX reference shares a 430 mm length with other products but belongs to a different construction and connection route. Read length, range and part number together.

Safe removal and fitting

Consult the vehicle procedure before raising wiper arms because some bonnets require a service position. Disable rain-sensing or automatic operation and keep the ignition/key state controlled. Place soft protection over the glass, support the metal arm and release the old connector without prying against the windscreen. Corroded arms or damaged tabs need repair rather than extra force.

Clean the new blade's connection area and avoid touching or oiling the wiping edge. Listen and feel for the proper latch, then tug along the arm direction. Lower the blade gently by holding the arm. Refit any cover, check that the blade sits the correct way up and remove all packaging or transport clips before energising the system.

Screen condition, washers and final testing

Clean road film, wax and insect residue from the windscreen with a product suitable for its coatings. Inspect chips and cracks, and check the wiper arm for twist, play, weak spring force or contact marks. Washer jets should deliver fluid across the intended sweep without spraying over the roof or leaving the blade dry. Blocked jets and empty fluid can damage new rubber quickly.

Test at the lowest practical speed using washer fluid, then observe parking and the full sweep from outside a stationary vehicle where safe. Check that paired blades do not collide and that the rear blade clears spoilers or high-level lamps. After the first use, recheck the connector and any cover. A blade that moves on the arm must be removed from service immediately.

From identification to a checked result

Keep the Champion part number and unused adaptor identification until both front and rear systems have been tested. If the vehicle returns with a detached or noisy blade, the recorded connector and position make it easier to distinguish installation from arm or screen condition.
