Elke develops automotive air-conditioning service chemicals and equipment. The current AutoMotoPart range is a focused group of twelve service consumables: PAG 46 and PAG 100 lubricants, a PAO 68 lubricant, oil and dye combinations, universal PAG oil, UV contrast dye, flushing agent and leak-stop products identified for R134a, R1234yf or both. These are professional-system products, not general oils or cooling additives.

The twelve listed Elke entries are all air-conditioning service products. Eight titles refer to R134a and five to R1234yf, with several supporting both refrigerants. Four titles contain PAG 46, while PAG 100, PAO 68, universal PAG, UV dye, flushing agent and three leak-related formats add distinct choices. Overlapping refrigerant wording does not make their lubricant chemistry or purpose interchangeable.
Build a reliable shortlist
Record the vehicle, refrigerant label, compressor reference, compressor drive type and current service history before choosing a consumable. If the system has been charged with an unknown gas or lubricant, identify contamination rather than masking it with additional oil, dye or sealer.

Do not select by the service-port connector alone. Confirm the system label and identify the recovered refrigerant, because adapters can be fitted incorrectly and vehicles may have been mis-serviced. If the lubricant specification cannot be established, pause the repair rather than choosing the closest viscosity or a product called universal.
PAG 46, PAG 100 and universal PAG
The present range includes R134a PAG 46 in two container sizes, PAG 46 with dye, R134a PAG 100 and an R1234yf PAG 46. Elke's official lubricant guidance lists PAG grades separately, including ISO 46 and ISO 100, because the compressor requirement determines viscosity. Container size and refrigerant compatibility do not change that requirement. Keep opened PAG tightly sealed because moisture uptake can compromise an A/C system.
The title Universal PAG Oil indicates broader intended coverage, but it is not evidence that every compressor, refrigerant or electric-drive design accepts it. Compare the full Elke technical data with the vehicle or compressor specification, including viscosity, chemistry, dye content and electric-compressor requirements. Measure oil with clean dedicated equipment and add only the calculated replacement quantity; both under- and over-oiling can affect lubrication and heat transfer.
PAO 68, dye-bearing oils and electric compressors
PAO 68 RL897 with dye is a different oil family from PAG. Treat its RL897 identifier, ISO grade, dye and stated refrigerant/system coverage as a complete specification. Do not use it merely because its bottle is available or because a workshop wants one oil for several systems. Compatibility with the remaining original lubricant, seals and compressor must be documented.
High-voltage electric compressors add an insulation requirement that cannot be inferred from viscosity. Elke's official selection page separately identifies POE ISO 80 where an electric-compressor or dielectric lubricant is required, which shows why ordinary PAG or PAO wording is insufficient. Follow the exact vehicle procedure, use clean dedicated injectors and never contaminate electric-compressor oil with residue from a conventional system.
UV dye as a diagnostic aid
Elke describes UV additive as a small quantity of fluorescent contrast liquid circulated with refrigerant so leakage sites can be found with a suitable lamp. The listed 250 ml product is titled for R134a and R1234yf, but the correct dose per system and compatibility with its lubricant still come from the current technical instructions. Dye identifies evidence of leakage; it does not seal or quantify the fault.
Check for old dye before adding more, because previous residue can produce misleading traces. Clean the suspected area with an approved remover, run the system only when safe, then inspect under the specified UV light while wearing suitable UV eye protection. Follow pipework, condensate and airflow paths so carried dye is not mistaken for the origin. Once found, repair and prove the system through the approved leak-test route.
Leak stop and micro-leak boundaries
Three titles concern leak stop or sealer: an R1234yf 40 ml product, an R134a treatment and a 30 ml hybrid/electric syringe supplied with two refrigerant hoses. Elke's official material describes its leak-stop family for micro-leaks and states compatibility with R134a and R1234yf formats. That narrow description should not be extended to fractured pipes, damaged condensers, failed seals, compressor faults or unidentified loss.
Confirm that the vehicle maker and every recovery, charging and leak-detection machine involved accepts the exact sealer. Some workshops or equipment procedures prohibit systems containing sealer because it can contaminate service circuits. Use the complete specified quantity and connector only through the Elke method; never choose a hose by what can be made to fit. If the leak is accessible, a documented mechanical repair and verified pressure integrity remain the controlled route.
Flushing, evacuation and clean service practice
The five-litre Elke flushing agent is for a defined cleaning process after refrigerant recovery and component isolation. Determine which lines and heat exchangers may be flushed and which items must be removed or replaced under the vehicle procedure. Do not circulate flushing chemical through a compressor, accumulator, receiver-drier, expansion device or service machine unless the exact instructions explicitly support it.
Use compatible closed flushing equipment, collect all outgoing liquid and continue the documented drying procedure until no solvent or contamination remains. Fit specified new seals and moisture-control components, then evacuate for the required time and confirm vacuum stability by the service method. Charge the identified refrigerant by mass with dedicated couplers, perform leak and performance checks, label the work and send recovered refrigerant and waste chemicals through authorised routes.

The names contain vital boundaries—R134a, R1234yf, PAG 46, PAG 100, PAO 68, dye, flushing agent and leak sealer. Preserve all of them when ordering. A shortened note such as ‘Elke oil’ or ‘universal A/C product’ is not a safe specification.
