Farécla: understand the range before choosing
Farécla develops automotive surface-refinishing compounds, polishes and application systems. This main Farécla collection contains G3 Pro care products, G3 professional compound, glaze and wax, the G360 polishing process, and matched G Mop pads. It is separate from any Farécla Trade collection and should be selected by exact product and process stage.
AutoMotoPart currently lists 13 Farécla items. The largest Farécla groups are 8 maintenance entries, 5 valeting entries. Farécla totals can change, so a category count is orientation rather than proof that a particular reference suits a vehicle, workplace or job. The exact Farécla listing, its current technical information and the item in front of you must agree.
What the Farécla page actually covers
| Product group in this range | Current entries | Selection focus |
|---|---|---|
| Maintenance | 8 | Match shampoo dilution, paint finish, wash media and runoff controls. |
| Valeting | 5 | Match high-cut pad to supported compound, 150mm backing plate, machine and speed. |
Eight items are maintenance and five valeting. G360 appears four times, Super Fast five, compound three and foam two. Trial and full-size liquids share chemistry but not quantity; pad colour identifies a stage only within the known Farécla system.
Build a reliable shortlist
Begin with the least aggressive route that can achieve the required result. Establish whether the panel needs wash, correction, finishing, filling or protection. A glossy surface can still contain deep scratches or thin clearcoat, so appearance alone is not a removal target.
| Check | Why it matters | Useful evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Paint condition | Fresh, cured, aged and repaired coatings tolerate work differently | Paint-system data, cure time and inspection |
| Defect depth | Sanding marks, swirls and through-coat scratches need different action | Lighting, magnification and thickness evidence |
| Machine | Rotary and dual-action movement changes heat and cut | Exact pad and process-chart compatibility |
| Pad | Fibre, yellow compounding and black finishing foams deliver different cut | Farécla pairing, diameter and clean condition |
| Speed and pressure | Excess heat can swell, haze or remove coating | Published range, cool panel and frequent checks |
| Follow-up | Compound residue must be cleared before finish or protection | Dedicated cloths, pads and compatible next stage |
Do not chase one remaining mark by increasing speed or pressure blindly. If it catches a nail, exposes colour loss or remains near an edge, stop and assess paint repair rather than further abrasion.
G360 compound and finish system
G360 Super Fast Compound is the cutting stage. Official process charts pair it with Super High Cut or angled compounding pads according to defect and coating. G360 Finish is a later stage for swirls, holograms and gloss, paired with finishing foam. Preserve that sequence and clean residue between it.
Work small sections with minimal product. Prime or condition the pad only as directed, keep it flat and reduce loading near edges and curves. Transparent working residue still requires inspection. Clean pads frequently because dried compound and removed paint can increase scratching.
G3 Premium, glaze and wax
G3 Premium is a machine abrasive compound with its own supported speeds and pads. It may cut and finish in a defined process, but G3 Glaze fills and enhances minor appearance while G3 Wax protects fully cured prepared paint. Filling is not permanent defect removal.
Wipe with clean dedicated cloths and inspect before wax. Do not trap compound residue in badges or porous trim. Confirm fresh-paint compatibility and cure state; a protection product suitable for cured paint may interfere with bodyshop work or later coating.
Pads, backing plates and cross-contamination
A 150mm pad needs the correct plate diameter, attachment and machine. Centre it accurately and inspect hook-and-loop, foam edges and fibre face. Replace torn, delaminated, hardened or contaminated pads. Never let the plate contact paint.
Label pads by product and stage. Wash by official method and dry without distortion. Compound retained in a black finishing foam can recreate marks, while wax in a cutting pad changes cut. Keep floor-dropped pads away from paint until properly cleaned or replaced.
Wash, decontamination and protection
G3 Pro Shampoo belongs before machine correction where washing is needed. Use clean media, correct dilution and separate wheel tools. Remove bonded contamination by a supported method before polishing so it is not dragged around the panel.
Clean and Protect, All-in-One Polish, glaze and wax offer different balances of cleaning, correction and protection. Read the exact title and sheet. Do not layer products merely for more shine; incompatible residue can smear or hide defects.
Heat, coating thickness and safe working
Edges, body lines and repainted areas can be thinner or less tolerant. Mask vulnerable trim and monitor temperature by touch only when safe, preferably using controlled measurement. Keep cables clear and support panels or loose parts.
Use ventilation and control splashes. Polishing dust and liquids should not enter eyes, lungs, drains or vehicle openings. Inspect outdoors and under focused light, then record the process so future correction accounts for material already removed.
From identification to a checked result
| Stage | Good practice for this range | Mistake to avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Inspect | Identify coating, cure, contamination and defect depth | Compounding every dull panel |
| Match | Choose exact liquid, pad, plate, machine and speed | Selecting by pad colour alone |
| Prepare | Wash, decontaminate, mask and clean pads | Polishing trapped grit or hot paint |
| Correct | Use small sections, minimal pressure and frequent checks | Chasing defects at edges |
| Finish | Clean residue, inspect, refine and protect if compatible | Waxing before correction is verified |
Record Farécla product, pad, machine, speed, panel and passes. That helps prevent repeated aggressive correction and keeps the main range distinct from similarly named trade products.
Reading real Farécla references
The Farécla names below are examples from the current range and show why the complete description matters. They are not universal Farécla recommendations and should not be treated as a fitment list. Within Farécla, a shared family word can conceal a different dimension, connector, material, pack format, operating condition or installation side.
| Example listing | What to verify beyond the name |
|---|---|
| G3 Pro Shampoo - 500 ml | Exact G3, G3 Pro or G360 product and process stage |
| G Mop Super High Cut Pad - 6in. / 150 mm (Single) | Paint type, cure, thickness, defect and safe removal limit |
| G3 Glaze Gloss Enhancer - 1 litre | Machine, backing plate, pad material, diameter, speed and pressure |
| G3 Premium Abrasive Liquid Compound - 1kg | Cleaning, pad segregation, lighting, finish and protection compatibility |
| G3 Wax Premium Liquid Protection - 1 litre | Exact G3, G3 Pro or G360 product and process stage |
| G360 Super Fast Compound - 1 kg | Paint type, cure, thickness, defect and safe removal limit |
| G360 Super Fast Compound - 100 g | Machine, backing plate, pad material, diameter, speed and pressure |
| G360 Super Fast Finish - 1 L | Cleaning, pad segregation, lighting, finish and protection compatibility |
The examples deliberately pair products and pads. Keep the complete Farécla title: G360 Compound with a cutting pad and G360 Finish with a finishing foam are related but different operations.
Common errors around Farécla products
- Confusing the main Farécla range with Farécla Trade products.
- Using finishing foam for heavy correction or a dirty cutting pad for final finish.
- Transferring rotary speed guidance to an unsupported machine.
- Compounding paint before washing and decontamination.
- Chasing a through-coat scratch with more abrasion.
- Overheating edges, body lines or fresh paint.
- Mixing compound, finish and wax on one pad.
- Applying protection before residue and defects are checked.
Farécla questions and answers
