PatFluid is a fuel-borne catalyst for diesel vehicles with an onboard DPF additive dosing system. The current range contains one- and five-litre fluid bottles, transfer kits with different contents, and multiple pre-filled replacement pouches. Do not pour PatFluid into the diesel fuel tank, AdBlue tank or engine-fluid reservoir. It belongs only in the dedicated onboard additive system by the specified transfer or pouch replacement method.
Fuel-borne catalyst versus AdBlue
A fuel-borne catalyst is metered in small amounts into fuel by a dedicated vehicle system to support particulate-filter regeneration. AdBlue is a urea solution dosed into the exhaust for SCR nitrogen-oxide control. The fillers, reservoirs, pumps and control strategies are separate. Similar dashboard wording does not make the fluids interchangeable.
Locate the system from current repair information before opening anything. Misfilling can damage components and create expensive decontamination work. If identity remains uncertain, stop and use VIN-based technical support rather than relying on cap colour or a generic additive message.
Bottles, transfer kits and clean refilling
The range includes dedicated transfer kits and a variant supplied with an empty one-litre bottle. Confirm which connector fits the vehicle tank or bag and whether fluid is transferred by gravity or another controlled method. Keep hose ends capped and never use equipment that previously carried AdBlue, fuel, coolant or another catalyst formulation.
Support the vehicle safely if access is underneath, clean around connections and place containment below. Release clips by their intended action and do not pull on fragile pipework. Measure or use the prescribed volume, prevent overfill and close every cap and connector before removing protection. Clean spills only by the safety-data method.
Replacement additive pouches
Pre-filled pouches avoid open transfer but remain application-specific. Match pouch shape, volume, connector, mounting tray and complete reference. A bag can be punctured or creased by poor handling, and a connector that appears to click may still damage its seal. Inspect housing and lines for abrasion or leakage before installing the new item.
Do not squeeze the bag to prime the system unless explicitly directed. Route pipes without kinks and reinstall shields. Retain the old pouch within compatible containment because residual catalyst may remain. If a bag failed early, investigate mounting, chafing and dosing-system pressure rather than simply replacing it.
Diagnostics, DPF condition and reset
Read faults, additive quantity, distance since refill and DPF pressure or soot information before service. A physically full reservoir cannot correct a failed dosing pump, blocked line or unrecognised refill. Perform the exact diagnostic replenishment reset and any pouch or pump prime required, then verify that calculated values and warnings respond correctly.
DPF regeneration also depends on engine temperature, sensors, exhaust integrity and manageable soot loading. Ash cannot be burned away by additive. Oil consumption, injector faults, short journeys or thermostat problems may cause repeat loading. Do not force regeneration where soot level, oil dilution or vehicle procedure makes it unsafe.
Exposure, waste and post-service checks

Keep the original label with any partly used container and do not decant into an unmarked bottle. Protect drains and separate incompatible workshop waste.
After service, inspect every joint for leakage and secure all underbody covers. Record fluid or pouch reference, quantity, diagnostic reset and fault data.
