Engine-air and secondary elements

After fitting, secure every clip and connector, perform the approved priming sequence and inspect under operating pressure. A persistent air bubble, fuel smell, hard starting or leak requires immediate correction. Do not tighten plastic housings beyond their stated value in an attempt to stop a leak; inspect seal position and component condition.
Oil filters: inserts, spin-on units and seals

Service timing, MOT relevance and disposal
Filter intervals come from the vehicle or equipment maker and may change for severe service. A dirty-looking outer surface does not quantify remaining capacity, while a normal appearance does not overrule a time or mileage limit. The MOT does not normally test a service filter as an isolated item.
