VELCRO® Brand: understand the range before choosing
Velcro Companies manufactures the original VELCRO® Brand hook-and-loop fastening products. The current range contains EASY HANG™ storage straps, ONE-WRAP® reusable ties, Stick On coins and Heavy Duty adhesive-backed strips or tape. These products organise, bundle or mount items in different ways; none should be treated as a structural, lifting or occupant-restraint device.
AutoMotoPart currently lists 15 VELCRO® Brand items. The largest VELCRO® Brand groups are 15 maintenance entries. VELCRO® Brand totals can change, so a category count is orientation rather than proof that a particular reference suits a vehicle, workplace or job. The exact VELCRO® Brand listing, its current technical information and the item in front of you must agree.
What the VELCRO® Brand page actually covers
| Product group in this range | Current entries | Selection focus |
|---|---|---|
| Maintenance | 15 | Match EASY HANG™ size, connector, strap length, item shape, support and exact storage load. |
Stick appears in eight titles, Heavy Duty in six and ONE-WRAP® in four. Five products use 50mm width, while the range also includes 16mm and 45mm coins. EASY HANG™ small, medium and large have distinct strap and load information; size names must remain linked to their exact code.
Build a reliable shortlist
Decide whether the task is bundling, removable attachment, adhesive mounting or suspended storage. Then assess what happens if it releases. A hook-and-loop closure suited to cable organisation is not an approved substitute for a mechanical bracket protecting people or valuable equipment.
| Check | Why it matters | Useful evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Task | Wrapping, joining and hanging load fasteners differently | Product family and official intended use |
| Substrate | Adhesive depends on surface energy, coating and cleanliness | Material compatibility and discreet adhesion test |
| Load direction | Peel, shear, vibration and shock produce different forces | Real orientation and package rating |
| Environment | Heat, water, UV and chemicals can affect adhesive and textile | Exact indoor/outdoor and temperature statement |
| Engagement | Partial overlap reduces available hook-and-loop area | Full aligned contact without wrinkles |
| Consequence | Release may be nuisance or serious hazard | Mechanical backup where falling could injure or damage |
Never use a headline holding figure without its product size, prepared substrate and orientation. The wall or coating must carry the load, and dynamic movement in a van or trailer is not the same as static storage.
ONE-WRAP® cable and hose organisation
ONE-WRAP® ties pass around a bundle and attach to themselves, allowing adjustment and reuse. Select width and spacing to distribute pressure. Do not cinch data cable, air hose or wiring until it deforms; preserve bend radius and movement allowances. Keep ties clear of hot exhausts, sharp edges and rotating equipment.
Colour coding can support identification but should not replace labels or electrical isolation procedures. Inspect under ties during maintenance because hidden abrasion, heat or fluid leakage can develop. Clean hooks gently and close unused ties so they do not collect fibres.
Stick On coins, strips and tape
Adhesive-backed hook-and-loop requires a compatible smooth surface. Clean by the package method, let it dry and apply firm even pressure. Porous, dusty, oily or weakly painted surfaces can need another attachment method. Do not use adhesive-backed products on fabric unless the exact product supports it.
Coins suit small local attachments, while strips and tape increase engagement area. More area does not correct an unsuitable substrate. Align hook and loop before loading and avoid repeatedly peeling the adhesive base from its surface when only the hook-and-loop faces should separate.
Heavy Duty products and load claims
Official Heavy Duty tape information gives a holding value for a defined 50mm by 100mm area and excludes PVC. Retain those conditions. Temperature, outdoor exposure, peel leverage and surface coating can reduce performance, and shelves or projecting objects create leverage beyond their dead weight.
Use mechanical fixings for overhead, safety-critical or high-consequence loads. Never mount fire equipment, batteries, sharp tools above people or vehicle components solely with adhesive fastener. Inspect for edge lift and creep, particularly after heat or weather changes.
EASY HANG™ storage straps
EASY HANG™ straps are designed to organise bulky garage, shed or workplace items. Match small, medium or large to the exact item and official load. The supporting hook, rail or structure must also be rated and securely fixed. Balance ladders, hoses and tools so they cannot swing or slide from the strap.
These are storage straps, not lifting slings, tie-downs or fall-arrest equipment. Do not suspend people, raise a load, secure cargo for transport or hang an item where release blocks an exit. Inspect webbing, stitching, connector and hook-and-loop engagement before use.
Removal, maintenance and safe reuse
Separate hook and loop by peeling the faces at their designed edge while supporting the mounted object. Removing permanent adhesive can damage finishes; follow official guidance and test any remover discreetly. Heat and solvent can harm surrounding plastics, paint and wiring.
Reusable ties remain serviceable only while clean and undamaged. Retire stretched, cut, melted or chemically contaminated products. Replace adhesive bases that have lifted or collected dirt. Record location and load in workshops where fasteners form part of organised equipment storage.
From identification to a checked result
| Stage | Good practice for this range | Mistake to avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Assess | Define task, load, direction, substrate and consequence | Selecting by width or holding figure alone |
| Prepare | Clean, dry and test the surface or support | Applying over dust, oil or weak paint |
| Attach | Align full engagement and allow adhesive bond time | Loading immediately or using partial overlap |
| Load | Stay within exact product conditions and avoid shock | Scaling ratings by adding pieces |
| Inspect | Check engagement, edge lift, wear, heat and abrasion | Reusing damaged ties or detached adhesive |
Keep the VELCRO® Brand product code, dimensions and load instructions with the storage plan. If the substrate, item or orientation changes, reassess rather than transferring the previous rating.
Reading real VELCRO® Brand references
The VELCRO® Brand names below are examples from the current range and show why the complete description matters. They are not universal VELCRO® Brand recommendations and should not be treated as a fitment list. Within VELCRO® Brand, a shared family word can conceal a different dimension, connector, material, pack format, operating condition or installation side.
