EVO-STIK: understand the range before choosing
EVO-STIK is a Bostik adhesive and sealant range. The current ten-item selection spans five different chemistries and jobs: two-part rapid epoxy, grab adhesive, wood adhesive, solvent contact adhesive, silicone sealant, expanding foam filler and kneadable metal epoxy putty. These are not interchangeable repair products, so the two materials, joint design, movement, temperature and environment must be identified before choosing.

All ten entries are grouped as maintenance, but the titles divide into two rapid epoxies, two contact-adhesive packs, two silicone colours and four single-purpose formats. Build a reliable shortlist
Describe the joint rather than asking for the strongest glue. Rigid epoxy suits some close-fitting repairs; contact adhesive suits supported surface bonds; wood adhesive depends on timber fit and clamping; silicone accommodates movement in a seal; foam fills selected voids; and metal putty is shaped before it hardens. None is automatically correct for load-bearing or safety-critical work.

If the material is unknown, the joint carries occupants or controls, or failure could release a part into traffic or machinery, obtain the original repair specification. Do not rely on a generic high-strength description where a mechanical fixing, welding or approved structural system is required.
Epoxy Rapid tubes and syringe
EVO-STIK Epoxy Rapid is a solvent-free two-part adhesive in separate tubes or a dual syringe. Dispense equal or otherwise instructed proportions onto a disposable compatible surface, mix until uniform and apply within the stated working period. Cap each tube correctly to avoid cross-contamination, and do not use a partly blocked syringe that delivers visibly unequal streams.
Close-fitting clean surfaces give more predictable results than thick uncontrolled layers. Hold alignment with tape, clamps or a jig that will not starve the joint, and leave it undisturbed for the directed cure. Low temperature can slow curing. Dispose of mixed residue only after following the safety information, because curing epoxy can generate heat in a concentrated mass.
Impact contact adhesive and Sticks Like
Impact Contact Adhesive in tin or tube is a solvent-borne contact system. Apply the stated coat to each suitable surface, allow the specified solvent evaporation or tack period, then align accurately before contact. Press over the complete area because the initial grab limits correction. Use strong ventilation and keep away from flames, sparks, smoking and hot work.
Sticks Like cartridge adhesive is a grab format with a different cure and substrate list. Cut the nozzle for the required bead, use a sound cartridge gun and support heavy or springing pieces for the full instructed period. A high initial grab does not prove a joint can carry an overhead, dynamic or safety load, and excess bead thickness can delay curing.
Wood adhesive and silicone sealants
Wood Adhesive is selected through timber type, moisture, joint fit and interior or exterior exposure. Plane or sand mating faces where needed, remove dust, spread the stated amount and clamp evenly without distorting the work. End grain and oily timber may need different preparation. Do not infer weather resistance from the word wood; use the exact 250ml product data.
White and clear Multi Purpose Silicone share a family but differ visually. Remove failed sealant completely, clean and dry the joint, use backing material where required and tool within the skin time. Maintain the specified bead geometry so movement is accommodated. Silicone is generally difficult to paint, and residue can prevent later coatings or adhesives from bonding.
Foam filler and metal epoxy putty
The 750ml Foam Filler expands, so protect the work area and apply only the directed amount to a suitable gap. Check whether surfaces should be dampened, shake and orient the can as instructed, and provide ventilation. Keep uncured foam off skin, eyes, clothing, vehicles, wiring and moving parts; cured excess must be trimmed without damaging hidden services.
Metal Epoxy Putty is kneaded until its components are uniform, then pressed into a prepared supported repair before the working time ends. Gloves, clean metal and removal of corrosion or grease are important. It does not recreate engineering properties of missing metal and must not be used for pressurised, braking, steering, suspension, fuel or structural repair without explicit technical approval.
Cure, inspection and safe removal
Keep joints unloaded through the stated cure and account for temperature and humidity. Inspect for incomplete wetting, voids, soft epoxy, adhesive transfer, foam movement and silicone separation. A bond that feels firm at an edge may remain uncured beneath a thick bead or between non-porous surfaces.
Remove excess only by the product's supported wet or cured method. Solvent used indiscriminately can spread adhesive, attack plastics or create vapour hazards. If a repair must be dismantled, protect the underlying surface and avoid uncontrolled heat or cutting. Record the product and cure date for later inspection or refinishing.

Retain the EVO-STIK pack, product code and technical data until the joint has fully cured and passed inspection. Note substrate preparation, mix or open time, clamping and cure conditions. This makes later failure analysis safer than identifying the product only as glue or silicone.
